Our druids in WotLK

So how is your druid in wotlk? How has the levelling been for you? Everything as expected or surprises?

My pov from moonkin side is that we seem to be rather powerfull in everything, no troubles in pvp or soloing elites. Mana seems to be a problem again at level 75 with new skill levels and with the crit percent reduced with 10% or so, but for soloing its not a problem really. Instances are though, and pots are really welcome. I'm abit sad that druids only got a feral skills as a new one, but i guess its really imba for you guys.

From my experience ferals seem to be pretty insane aswell, i've gotten 2 shotted by 2 levels higher Trolltyg druid. Insane gear ofcourse, but everything seems to scale well with levels, right?

Post your experiences, would really like to hear from you. smile

Re: Our druids in WotLK

I think healing druids have most buttons to push from healing classes.. when i kept you alive yesterday, i used lifebloom, wild growth, rejuvenation, regrowth, swiftmend and tranquility. Also barkskin to keep myself alive once in a while. So there's alot of buttons to spam. We'll be getting Nourish aswell at lvl 80, so one more to the list. But i dont deny it isn't easy, felt abit boring aswell since the healing spells are so powerfull now.

I object! I actually think Priests have more spells, but I must admit that not all of them are used. What I do use is: Circle of Healing, Flash Heal, Greater Heal, Binding Heal, Prayer of Healing, Prayer of Mending and Renew.

I gues the conclution should be that both classes are equally fun and challenging when it comes to healing if you bother to invest some time in learning the tricks.

Yeah, fun or boring. Hopefully healing in raids will be a little bit more challenging. Almost fell asleep when healing through instances yesterday.

You should group up with me to see something new - pet tanking an instance. It is perfectly doable, however - naturally - slightly less comfort than with a proper (player) tank. ApeOx would keep you awake I think.

(since I'm leveling at my own pace, I guess that may happen at level 80, not sooner)

Paladin DPS feels really fun and i can easily keep myself against some horde gankers i have met in northrend. On the other hand, i have specced as holy couple times just to get fast in some instance groups and personally i'm pretty disapointed about our holy. It's mainly still based on pushing our flash heal ability and damn paladins have used that heal like four years now. Haven't tested protection so far, so can't really comment our tanking side atm.

I can understand when blizzard stated on some post while ago, that they don't want to add too many buttons for healers to push. What i don't understand is that, when they added those new buttons, all went to druids/priests, who already got huge arsenal of different healing spells to use smile

Yeah, I was rather reffering to the ease of healing, than to the amount of buttons You guys press. It just looked sooo effective...

Most of blue/epic geared paladins nuke You down so fast You can't even respond. If I were You, I'd create a 5-pala arena team, exactly the day the next season starts. I'm pretty sure You get +2000 without much hassle.

Re: Our druids in WotLK

Kinda sad that this topic went to "hunter/hunter pet/paladin/priest/warlock/anyclass rocks/sucks"-discussion... and none of our druids even bothered to answer.

Anyway, continue your offtopic please. Something to read at work atleast...

I guess that depends on the class the paladin is fighting against. Nowadays i dont have any trouble with paladins as a moonkin, if they dont catch me out of the owlform. Bubble is still very strong but running away always works for that.

Re: Our druids in WotLK

Hmm been toying on reviving my druid since he will probably be my level 80 healing class (and tank if they make dual talents any time soon). Was thinking of levelling as feral (since i have my mage and walrock as casters). Came up with this feral build http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZEMMsfrb0xR0IuhZ0E0z and will take Berserk at 51.

NB: this is aimed completly at levelling / questing with tanking / DPS as a side option rather than main focus, but there are so many nice things in the druid trees that I'm not sure what to take and what to leave out

Re: Our druids in WotLK

You forgot feral charge. tongue

But regarding feral talents, there are tons of different builds that all work for leveling, it’s a matter of preference. I started out with something similar to what you have, but after I while I figured Rend and Tear was imba, and started stacking points in that. If I had lvled again I would have started out with 5/5 in the RaT talent at least.

Re: Our druids in WotLK

unlike Tanduli, i choose RnT in the start, but didnt really like it, so i specced away from it. I dont use Shred just spam mangle. fast and easy smile

@ beardie
I would take the 5 points from FA and put 3 into Thick hide. I feel like with the armor nerf we got pre expansion, you really need the talent to take as little dmg as possible. Remove 2 points from Shredding attacks. You most likely wont be shredding mobs when lvling, since it goes so fast, that you cant be bothered to go stealth at every mob. Mangle spam is the way to go imo, while lvling up.

Since you wont really need stealth attacks, there is also no reason for Brutal impact. Remove 2 points there as well.
Mobs are higher lvl than you, so when you use your stealth, it should be to bypass those highlvl mobs. No points in Feral instincts was really annoying for me atleast, so i put 3 points there.

Ohh, and you completely skipped our fantastic talent Survival of the fittest. Against equal lvl mobs you will be crit immune (+ you have 6% better stats!!) better survival overall and good dps. You should put 3 points in that smile

Here is the changes to your tree as i would put them. I took 2/3 in king of the jungle, but after getting Berserk at 71, you take the last point there as 72. smile

Re: Our druids in WotLK

Ok, since in slow leveler and I know ill change my build @ 80 ill post what i have atm,

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZxMGsfbd0eR0udAZ0E0z

next 3 points will go to KotJ and Infected Wounds.

Id like to ask you how did you glyph your druid and if it was carefully planned while distributing your talents? I for example use Shred quite often since with glyph bonus and Pounce it gives nice openning.

But Tanduli is right so many builds big_smile

Re: Our druids in WotLK

i would remove the 1 point in infected wounds and put it in berserk if i was you.
There is no reason not to have both OOC and Berserk as soon as possible, as they are quite the dps boost.
