apparently some maniac went to a island in a lake just west of Oslo (which hosted a youth summer camp for a political party) and shot about 25-30 people to death aswell.

That the happening was tragic is far beyond doubt. I, for one, do not believe any post I could write is remotely adequate enough, yet I have a question that is most likely best answered by Norwegians. Is the reasoning behind the attacks known? Granted, I realize it's almost certainly an ill-minded person, the very few bits of information released by the media down here made very little sense.

I heard its mainly racially motivated, the culprit claimed he did it save norway from muslim influence!

Yeah. He's afraid of muslims and attacked the goverment because it's too open minded towards foreign cultures. He has actually composed a 1500 pages long Manifest where he describes his ideas and give reasons for why it was necessary to do what he did. I don't know the details.

Can fill in some details here.

Breivik (Terrorist name) is an nationalistic fundementalist who wanted to harm the norwegian Labour party for bringing multiculturailsn into norway. He bombed governmental buildings and then went on to the youth camp on Utøya to kill Labourparty youths to stop the recruitment to the party. It's pretty sick what have happend, and every soul in norway feel disgusted by these actions. His lawyer says that he thinks he is in a sort of war, and the lawyer means he is not mentally stable (no shock). He is now put in 4 weeks solitary and another 4 weeks of custody until the investigation is finished. He is charged by killing minimum of 76 ppl(search still going on), including 68 Youth at the political camp on Utøya.

My condolances to everyone personally affected by these actions and we will prove that we are better than these actions. <3

its kinda knocked me back a little this, scandanavian countries ive always seen as neutral serene places, far from the grips of racial terrorism, made me very sorry to hear about these attrocities.

You're reading wrong portals obviously. We had loads of info about who he is and why he did it. I can even provide you links.

You are wrong in this. There is a lot going on, but it is not written about in media due to the lid put on it by political correctness and all that it implies.
