Death Knight Application - declined

Personal Information

Age: 18
Gender: Male
Country: Norway
Occupation: Im currently going to school and im studying to become an electrician.
How good is your english: I would say its quite good. I understand it perfectly and I can also speak very well.
Anything else about you, the person, we might be interested in: Im a guy who is really into training, apart from playing games. I train 5 times a week (with Wednesday and Sunday being off days). Anyways, im also very social and love having a little chat here and there with people and not only sit infront om my computer silently the whole day and play!

Character Information

Nickame: Emphen
Armory Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/o … n/advanced
Mainspec: Frost (dual wield)
Offspec: Frost (2Hander)
Professions: Engineering and Jewlcrafting both maxed out

Please provide a WoL log presenting your awesomeness (this helps loads): Sorry, but i dont have any logs to show u my skills. I havent played for 3 months now and the guild im currently in, im only social. I did raid with them a long time ago, but there werent many recorded fights

Regardless of its quality (ilvl), is you gear fully taken care of? Safe for some specific cases (eg. an item about to be replaced next week), we expect everything to be gemmed, enchanted and reforged optimally. My gear isnt as breathtaking as I would like it to be. As I mentioned above, i havent been raiding for quite some time no so my gear is kind of outdated, but i know that the skills I have with this class wouldnt really put me in a bad light. Ive played this Death Knight since WOTLK start and it has been my main the past 3 years no, so I know my class in and out. Gear will not be any problem, but if this is a issue in your eyes, ill start collecting upgrades as soon as I can untill you are satisfied.

Tell us about your alts (armory links included), how good are you with them:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/o … n/advanced
The only alt im really playing, and the only (geared) alt thats level 85 that I can raid with. Ive played him for over a half year and I can safely say that I know how to play a feral (kitty).
I also find it quite fun to switch between my dk and my druid, sometimes i consider making my druid the main character, but ive achieved too much on my dk to switch. Maybe in MOP, ill consider it and make my druid the main, we'll see.

Raiding Experience (be thourough here, the more information you give us, the better; both pre-Cataclysm and present progress is interesting for us; tell us about previous guilds):
I started late TBC (Sunwell release) so I didnt really have much raiding experience untill WOTLK.
But when I played in TBC, I played a warrior and i did manage to down some bosses, not when there where the main bosses or when they were the hardest, but I saw how raiding was. Anyways, my warrior downed:
Gruul's Lair
Magtheridon's Lair
Karazhan
Zul'aman
1-2 bosses in Serpentshrine Cavern
When WOTLK was released, I instantly rerolled to my (current) dk and throughout the expansion ive raided all time. I cleared Naxx, EoE and OS very quickly after I hit 80, but when Ulduar came, I didnt have so much luck. My guild kind of disbanded (with kind of I mean we didnt have a schedual, we just raided when we had players) so I didnt clear to many bosses there. When TOC was the new instance, I searched for a new guild and found one. Although I dont remember the name, we did clear the instance and went right on to the Grand Crusade. We had a little hinder, the faction champions. I still remember how my guild had a difficult time downing them, but when we did we managed to get 4/5 hc. Never downed the last boss untill ICC. In ICC though it was completly different. We downed all bosses on normal very quickly and proceeded to do the same with them on the Heroic mode. Untill we hit Frost wing. We spent too many attempts there, but in the end, my guild got 11/12 Heroic.
Now in cataclysm ive tried to do my best and have a good progress, and ive somewhat managed too:
BOT (BOT HC only Halfus)
BWD (5/6 HC)
TOTFW
Firelands 7/7 HC
And now in DS I havent really played to much, but have 7/8 normal (I really hope u look away from this as I know that is the only thing thats keeping me from getting into better guilds. I have the skill and dedication, I just hope I can show u)

What attendence should we realistically expect from you (for the sake of clarity, please note that while our Monday and Thursday raids start at 19.30, the Sunday one starts at 18.45): To be honest, i can play every day, it shouldnt be a problem attending the raids. Ill just have to train earlier=) So yeah, u will see me at 100% raid attendance.

Any external factors affecting activity we ought to know about (in particular, any of the days we are raiding at that does not suit you):
As ive mentiond, I do train 5 times a week, but that shouldnt affect anything, really. So no, nothing that could prevent me.

At this point of time, how long do you expect you will continue playing WoW:
Im not totally sure, but I would say about 1-2 years maybe? I dont know how MOP is gonna be, how long it will last, if raids / pvp will be just as fun as theyre now. So I cant really give u a specific number, but around 2 years.

Why are you good at playing your class (don't qoute Elitist Jerks, don't give us the stuff every semi decent guide holds; convince us you're good your own way): Im good at my class because ive practiced it for 3 years, ive read about class changes, seen upcomming changes and adapted to them and managed to become better and better at it. Ive learned what items i need to use to improve my gameplay (like potions, food, flasks and so on) and which enchantments are best for my class and spec.

What do you consider the most significant pros and cons of your class/spec in the current state of affairs:
Pros: Death Knights have very much survivability and theyre also able to heal themselves while still keeping the opponent under pressure. Anti magic shell, anti magic zone, icebound, we can get immune to fear effects and charm and we also have a pet to sacrefice if we get too low. Also our pets deal a very high amount of damage, both the ghoul and the gargoyle.
Cons: I dont know. To be honest, Death Knights have been better before, and i dont mean in the start of wotlk when they were plain OP, but just.... better. I think that our healing generally has got nerfed quite a lot, and casting death strike while in frost spec doesnt really do much damage, its better to cast necrotic strike and get healed through that, but DS is instant healing while NS is only healing u if the target gets healed.

When approaching new content, a fight that both you and the raid will try for the first time, how do you prepare (be precise here, "I read tactics on internet" doesn't cut it; we seen our share of players who" knew tactics for all bosses" and then failed miserably in terms of actual preparations): When im trying something new, i make sure to atleast have SOME knowledge of the fight. I try to learn as much as possible, but I have flaws, like every other human, so maybe there is something i dont catch in the video (or when i read the tactics i didnt quite read as well as i should), that makes me fail at a certain point of the fight, but ill do everything to make it right the other attempt and make sure I dont fail at the same thing twice. I also buy more comsumables then needed for both me and fellow raiders since were progressing, wipes are destined to happen. So bringing many consumables is very important.

Given Spine of Deathwing heroic was one of the harder fights recently and required certain specific actions and execution, tell us how you prepared for it. Again, be very precise (don't tell us "I bursted!", tell us how exactly you did it).
I havent attempted it so i havent really prepeared for it. Only watched videos, but not tried it out.

Why are you applying to The Enigma Order, what made you choose us, when and where did you first hear about us:
Because I wanted to move from my current server, Outland. Im tired of it, been playing here for over a year now and I just want to get away. Also my friend who recently applied here (Cuzi) said that u seemed to be a quite good guild, with a 8/8 hc progression in DS. And as ive stated before, my lack of kills and achievement is lowering my chance to get in this guild, im aware of that, but I hope  u can give me a shot because I know I can amaze u.

What do you expect from us, as a guild:
A shot to prove myself worthy for a raider spot in ur guild and a good atmosphere and raid attendance. Also i like to have a laugh here and there, joke around with other people, but while raiding I like it when people keep focused, even on farm bosses.

Please confirm that you have read and understood our rules and they are ok for you (yes, this is our way to ensure we're not asked somewhat silly questions that are already answered in writing at the Rules section of the forum): Yes, ive read them all, including the DKP rules, which I also agree to!

When unsure about any aspect of the game, be that tactics, class specific assignments, how do you proceed:
I would rather ask about the issue, try to get more knowledge / information about it than keep wiping or pissing other people off because i dont know how to do the task propperly.

Why do you play WoW, what are your objectives, why commit more than 10 hours a week to a computer game:
I play wow because its fun, and because I like to get away from "real life issues". Some of us try to escape into an imaginary world to get away from things, yes maybe i do that too, but its mostly for fun and the social part of the game, pvp or pve, I like to interact with other people!smile

Is there anything else you would like to include that may assist your application.
I dont know if ive stated it, but the reason i had a break is because of some real life issues i dont want to post here. U may think that i quit because I grew tired of the game, but that wasnt really the case. And the 3 month break has helped me a lot, so I think ill enjoy the game now more anyways!

Re: Death Knight Application - declined

Thanks for the application. I'm afraid the mixture of not really satisfying gear and experience and the fact that our roster is just about full at this stage leave us no room to manouver.

Good luck in your guild search.
