Noob rogue!!

I was playing the beta when a rogue asked me if i could help him with a elite quest. He told me to only heal. And i asked why:

http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/2363/noobroguexz2.jpg

But ofcourse i ignored his request about only healing tongue

I only had to switch out once to heal him because he was running around so much that he got another mob on him wink

Mangle is a must have for feral druids.. doing crits up to 1200 in cat and my highest in bearform was almost 1500. Combine mangle with rip and the enemy/mob bleeds for almost 300 dmg pr. tick (at 5 combo points) smile

Yes, jelous that you actually do the same damage as me in dps gear and can switch to "tank" gear without having to go ooc, thats pretty lame imo :\

Re: Noob rogue!!

After 2 years some people actually envy us something, i like that. But seriously , i wouldn agree here, shapeshift is only small part of "gear changing" . the second part is actually wearing dps, tank items and that needs ooc. But ,yes i do like that. And saying its lame, well, just as killing someone without being even close to him ( dot locks) or killing someone without him moving an inch( rogues) or killing someone just by healing ( chimp wink )

4800 hp, 6000 armor, 26-28% crit depending on trinket. but i dont have "Cheap shot" in dps gear like you have, to not forget stealth and dots that actually does more damage then rend

On the positive side, you have the luxury of actually being allowed to do these things in raids on a regular basis smile

From reading forums and hearing comments from people one could get the idea that hybrid classes are only allowed to go dps or tanking in 40-man raids because "it's cute" rather than practical.

It will be interesting to see if 25-man raids are as tolerant or if there will be some kind of elitism in some guilds with regards to raid roles - leaving dps/tanking to pure dps/tanking classes rather than hybrids because some feel that is most efficient.

When we look at TEO it's not like we've had a habit of druids tanking raid bosses and going dps - we've had some but not much.

TEO has feraldr00ds/moonkins, shadowpriests and dpsadins so I doubt the attitude will chance with the raiding smile

We had druid dpsing on patchwerk and other stuff, we had tovernaartje dps on thaddius (beeing 1 on healing and 10 on damage). + we had a druid tank on 4hm 3 out of the 4 kills i think wink

We've had druids doing these sorts of things as well, but I'd still classify it as "some, but not much".

Look at it this way:
If all the druids specced feral, would there be room for them all to go catform and bearform?

At the moment, from what I've seen, it depends on so many other factors and not just the preference of the druid whether they are allowed to perform or not. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally for druids doing whatever they feel like and spec for, but this does not seem like the general opinion in the wow community from what I read on forums.

We do have those, and that's what makes it interesting.

But still, you have to admit that you have had to be second in line to pure dps/tanking classes when we've raided, and that was sort of the point I was trying to make smile

I know that some druids over the long time we've raided have complained that even though they had the gear for it they were not allowed to perform, usually because those roles were already sufficiently filled by pure classes, or because we felt we lacked some healing.

I have 4700 hp, ~2700 armor, 1613 ap and 28,9% crit self buffed. Yes druids do get maim "cheap shot" at lvl 62 and our bleed damage is high, but in catform where we have those skills we are still pretty vulnerable.

I dont feel imba compared to other classes but i do feel satisfied that im not easy honor for every other class. I have been in lots of 1 on 1 fight in battlegrounds (and world pvp) against warrior/rogues, where it has been close, some where i have been way superior and other where i have been beaten so easy the you should think that i was made of glass and not a strong bear wink

I hope this will change in tbc, i know i will do my best to change it. I dont mind healing some of the time, but i just feel that if i accept it once i accept it for life time big_smile I like being versatile that is after all what druids do best smile

Re: Noob rogue!!

i suck at quoting small messages so i wont bother ;D. you should try and watch Aeryl, basicly the same "level" of gear as my dps gear. i can do absolutely 0 against him.

Fight looks like (seeing i dont use perception in duels). Pounce leading to pounch bleed, rip, Mangle cat > Casterform and a moonfire > Bearform and slowly watch me die to rip and pounce, adding a mangle bear when cat runs out. nothing i can do against this smile. he can beat me in bear from start till end without even healing (perhaps bear heal) unless i pop some serious CD's and get lucky. thats not what i call balance :\

Re: Noob rogue!!

perception is one of the best skills a human has, and is easely accessible on my human chars at least. but pvp is not everyones thing, understandably. getting range on a druid is awesome, and their specs seem to matter: a feral druid does usually not heal very good, and does not have good ranged abilities. they have a heal that procs when they crit, but on a warrior with good defense, crits are rare, right?

Catching druids in general in catform is a rare one, especially with perception :<
