RAP and agility.

Despite the odds I might even get to level 70 some day, even if it sounds rather impossible at the moment, taking into consideration the limited amount of time I have at my disposal.
Nevertheless, I've been playing with talent calculator a bit (since that I can do from work:), but met quite an obstacle. I know that there were significant changes made in 'hunter mathematics'. Rocket sience for me as it was - never bothered to go into the details - it got only more complicated now.
Thus I have quite a simple question to you hunters - these days +50% RAP is way better then =15% agility, right? Probably always would be, had it been possible, but I'm down to TBC state.

Thanks in advance for replying.

Re: RAP and agility.

Quite a lot of graphic to be reading it at work, but thanks anyways.
Seems like I got to learn to read in the first place, as it clearly is +10% RAP, not 50%.

Re: RAP and agility.

Ok, read  a bit, have some ideas for lvl 70 build, but that's still a long way to go.

Anyways - anyone else thought of constructing a build (and gathering adequate equipment) for a max-dps but gimped-crit-chance? This would mainly take going for RAP instead of AGI. Especially important since the gems force us to choose between those two strongly these days. And looking at the new items (or rather - the new range od items existing due to the changes in RAP and AGI 'importance') that choice can be pushed even further. I myself have a green belt with RAP only, that boosts my dps by 3,5 (I think), but ofc decreases crit chance greatly. Looking at how creazy numbers I'm getting with autoshot already, an idea like that really sounds tempting.
Then again, it is finally possible to have both +5% crit chance from MM talents and +3% from survival (even if a build like that would suck bigtime in pretty much all other aspects). And that sure sounds tempting as well for me.

Oh well, a lot of thinking on what to do, but not to much to play for me.

Just wanted to listen to your ideas for lvl 70 builds and bump activity on hunter's forum.

Alot of mages, with Cryonic being the prime example. In raiding and instances, DMG > all. If You dont want to PvP alot, a build like that will allow You to rock the dmg meters and You will not be surprised by some crits that will take all the aggro from the MT.

Re: RAP and agility.

I have moved away from crit-build to dps-build (and gear) myself, but I find it very hard to break away from the old fascination with crit %. Every time I replace a new bit of gear and my crit chance goes down (and every time I level too) I get a bit depressed, but overall I guess RAP = DPS.

The only reason really to go with a crit / agi build would be if you have talents that take advantage of crits. There are a number of these in the hunter (survival mainly) talents trees, and other classes talents such as druids improved leader of the pack.

My crit chance has dropped about 6% from 60-64 (atm) and my 'tooltip' dps has increased by 15-20 i'd guess.

Re: RAP and agility.

Since I can't create new topics from work:
this is a build I'll try when I get to lvl 70.
Mainly to see what sort of crit chance I'll ba able to get. Don't think it'll be impressing tbh, but I've been marksmanship since lvl 60 so I feel like it's time to check some new things.
