Arcane pve dmg build.

Since the arcane blast was introduced and arcane tree looks like a pve dmg tree I figured I'd put up a pve raid/dungeon setup as arcane:

I've added Pyro into this build so that you can get the AP,PoM,Pyro when extra burst is needed.

Would this be a viable pve build, top of the dmg meter stuff ?

Re: Arcane pve dmg build.

Yeah, thats a good build for Arcane Blast and lazers, but I'd switch improved arcane missiles and take 5/5 magic absorbtion (if you want to focus on raids and dungeons ofc). My experience says that when You fight a raid boss that does magic damage, You are most likely equipped with some premium resistance items and You fully resist _alot_.
Also, while grinding mobs, You'll prolly stick with scorches, fireblasts and icelances (critchance from clearcasts and Spell Power FTW), so AM won't be that needed smile But that's a matter of playstyle, the difference overall will be minimal.

BTW, when I take a look at this build, I realise the idea behind Arcane Blast. After 3 blasts the cast time is reduced to 1,5 seconds and it deals awesome damage. 1,5 seconds cast means alot of clearcasts. Clearcasts means alot of crits. Crits mean Spell Power look imba. Also, mind mastery > empowered bolts because Intellect gain in TBC is awesome.

Re: Arcane pve dmg build.

But, will mana perhaps be a huge problem with this build ? Cause arcane missiles and arcane blast really really drains mana fast.

I tested 3stacks with Arcane Blast, it costs 600 mana pr blast, thats ALOT...

Arcane Missiles are - when specced properly and during a boss fight - very efficient, because each lazer can proc mana regen from Judgement of Wisdom.

We will not know anything about AB untill we fully test it, though smile When I dinged 66, I tested blasts in The Underbog - but I'm fire atm, so I can't really judge it hmm Only thing I loved were 1,1k hits every 1,5 second and over 2k crits. Imagine that with Mind mastery and Spell Power...

One thing I know is that gnomes' Expansive Mind, Clearcast, Arcane Mind and Arcane Meditation will help alot here, and mana is also the reason why I said magic absorbtion can be useful. And I'm sure Blizzard has a plan regarding arcane tree, they didnt put this spell to the game for nothing.
