I'll repeat it before the encounter, but i also say it here - today we resheep our guardians every 15-20 seconds. I know it'll cost abit more mana, but with this, we wont wipe because of random breaks

There's also the focus target (secondary target) you can use. Seems not everyone is aware of this feature. Think you'll have to manually set the key binding for it (set focus / target focus). You'll get a secondary target on your screen to watch and it'll be easier to switch back to the focus target.
Priests can also help out with fear if the sheep breaks early (if you're able to reach the button before you're 1-shotted ).
One question: doesn't the sheeped target build up immunity against being sheeped the more it's polymorphed? Shackling atleast can be spammed without any getting diminishing returns, but you can still get the occational break after 5-8 seconds.

it does and if I'm correct sweters tactic is within diminishing returns time aswell but if it's only 1 mage a guardian there should't be that problem afaik

If there are diminishing returns on the polymorph then you have to let the mob run around unsheeped for 15 seconds before it'll reset. So keeping the mob constantly sheeped would make you hit immunity - even if you wait 15-20 seconds before you renew the sheep. That's how it normally works anyways.

Here's the macro all mages should have.
#showtooltip polymorph
/clearFocus [target=none, noModifier:ALT]
/focus [harm, nomodifier:ALT] target
/castRandom [target=focus, exists] Polymorph, Polymorph: Pig, Polymorph: Turtle
It casts polymorph on your target and makes that target your focus as well. You can now freely nuke another mob / boss. If you use the ALT modifier (ALT + Hotkey) then you will resheep without loosing your current target.
If you're using Nature EnemyCastBar you will even be able to see when your sheep breaks (if it doesnt break before time) so you won't have any trouble resheeping before it breaks.

Polymorph does NOT have diminishing returns in PvE while it does have it in PvP.
