Possible virus.. allready...

So I was happily playing/winning an AV when I suddenly got a windows popup message tabbing me out of WoW that said it had found a keylogger. Might've been a stupid idea afterwards to log back onto my WoW account but just so you know, I might not be online so much in the following weeks as I'm expecting blizzard to get me a ban for the keylogger. Working on it meanwhile to get it off but you can't really do much when all those virus scanners are pay to use...
But hey... getting it done...

Atleast scanned with 3 different anti virus/spyware programs and cleaned all I could, then did a system recovery back to one week ago, I hope that works atleast but I doubt it.

Re: Possible virus.. allready...

what you get for trying to win an AV.

on a more serious notice - been having pretty bif troubles with viruses and such not long ago. Managed to get rid of them (not that I know exactly how), so if you stumble upon some problems - I may try to help.

Re: Possible virus.. allready...

AVG Antivirus and AVG anti-spyware with some firewall has worked perfectly for me up to now. 'Search and Destroy' (dont remember the company) if I suspect there is anything more serious. And if you need a free firewall, look up Kerio Personal Firewall, nowadays dubbed Sunbelt Personal Firewall (SPF).

ps. both AVG's are completely free. Been using this combo for years now with success.

Got advised to get AVG and Kapersky, some free dutch thing. And will do. I'm not going to enter my passwords anywhere without being assured that it's GONE.

Re: Possible virus.. allready...

in many cases, advertisement spam can also be called 'keyloggers' with regards to antivirus programmes, therefore causing false alarm smile

fun eh?
