    * Focused Power: Increases your total spell damage and healing done by 2/4%, but no longer increases your chance to hit with Mind Blast, and Mass Dispel.

    * Levitate now costs 3% of base mana.
    * Lightwell (Holy): Cast time reduced to .5 sec, down from 1.5 sec. Charges increased to 10, up from 5. Now breaks from any attack that hits you for 30% or more of your total health. Cooldown reduced to 3 minutes, down from 5.

    * Mind Soothe now has only one rank, costs 6% of base mana and has no max target level.
    * Mind Vision now costs 3% of base mana.
    * New Talent: Improved Spirit Tap (Shadow) - Gives you a 50/100% chance to gain a 50% bonus to your Spirit after gaining a critical effect chance from your Mind Blast or Shadow Word: Death spells. For the duration, your mana will regenerate at a 25% rate while casting. Lasts 8 sec.
    * New Talent: Twin Faiths (Discipline) - Increases your damage and healing by 1/2/3/4/5%.
    * Pain Suppression (Discipline): Cooldown increased to 3 minutes, up from 2.
    * Power Infusion (Discipline): Cooldown reduced to 2 minutes, down from 3.

    * Searing Light (Holy): Now also increases the damage of your Holy Nova and Penance spells.
    * Shackle Undead now costs 9% of base mana.
    * Shadow Focus (Shadow): Now a 3 point talent, down from 5. Now also reduces the mana cost of your Shadow spells by 2/4/6%.
    * Shadow Resilience (Shadow): Now reduces physical damage taken by 2/4%, but no longer reduces the chance to be critically hit by spells.
    * Shadowform (Shadow): Now has an innate 30% threat reduction. Now has a shapeshift UI.
    * Silence (Shadow) global cooldown removed.
    * Silent Resolve (Discipline): Now a 3 point talent, down from 5 points.
    * Spirit Tap (Shadow) - Talent reduced to 3 points, down from 5. Now also leads into "Improved Spirit Tap"
    * Wand Specialization (Discipline) has been removed

Your thoughts please

The most obvious thing to me is the CoH , Raid targets (nice) Smart heal (nice) 6 second cool down (bollox)
crit heals from PoM too smile

But looking at this i think mox has the right idea lvling as holy/dics

Oh and anyone got a spec in mind (that your using from the patch to wotlk)?

Re: 3.0 Discuss!

With the change to Circle of Healing mechanic it was nessecary to give it a cool down. I never liked spamming CoH in the first place so I think it is a good change. The question is if I manage to make myself some kind of rotation with Renew, Prayer of Mending and CoH or if I end up using them only "occationally". I say "occationally" becuase I don't use them back to back. I generally hate stuff with short cooldown. I either try to use it 0.1 secounds before the cooldown is over or forget to use it when cool down is complete. I often find myself not casting something becuase I'm waiting for Renew or PoM.

The Lightwell changes are crazy. Lightwell was powerfull before and are even better now. People with dots can use it. The primary problem has not changed though. Healing over Time will never be very good because people are topped up by the raid healers. With Lightwell it is even worse because players must buff themselfs.

I don't like that they remove the downranking option, but I can live with it. Downranking was an easy solution to mana management. After 2.4 I almost stopped using stopcasting completely. Instead I found a rank of Greater Heal I could spam. This change might reintroduce stoppcasting, but key elements in this are Serendipity, Glyphs and other forms of regen that will be given to different classes.

They change Prayer of Mending so that a heal are counted as heal done by the healer. I think the change are justified, but if they change this they should also change Earth Shield and Lifebloom blossom. The change means that threat are generated towards the healer and consequently this means no more Prayer of Mending before a pull. Less of a problem in raids, but might be a case in dungeons.

Talent build suggestion: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=bVhZfbxcfMqVuVIsz
The build is not for leveling, but for the month between patch and expansion. I can't make up my mind about the importance of Silent Resolve, Holy Concentration or Serendipity so I took them all. My final build might be without Holy Concentration, but I'm not sure.

Re: 3.0 Discuss!

In an upcoming build all Priest racials have been retired, except the following:

    * Desperate Prayer - This is now the 11-point talent in Holy, Holy Nova is now a base ability. Cooldown also reduced to 30 seconds.
    * Devouring Plague - Now a base ability. Cooldown reduced to 30 seconds, mana cost greatly reduced.
    * Symbol of Hope - Now a base ability. Now restores 5% base mana every 2 seconds for 8 seconds to your party. Renamed "Hymn of Hope."

While this change does reduce the "uniqueness" of different Priests, we feel game balance as a whole will benefit.

Note: These new "racials" are not racials, they are trainable to all Priests.

Re: 3.0 Discuss!

Damn, I loose Star Shards??

Will be nice to have Hymn of Hope and Desperate Prayer though. Let's hope Devouring Plague keeps it's damage and helth regen despite the cooldown and mana cost reduction.

Re: 3.0 Discuss!

i think i will focus on my priest and lvl it up as a shadow. Since shadow priest mostly puts talents in 1 tree, it will be pleasure to lvl it up.

Only one problem is my disc/holy pvp gear, with +600 spell damage. Baldor borrow me some purplez plx.

first idea of the build.

If i will get some noob like Sweter or someone to lvlup with i will maby stay in disc build due to gear i have hmm

Dwight: Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swinging an axe into somebody's face. Or in a Roman arena, taking his sword to other gladiators like him.

New v3.0 build: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=bVhbzhZfotcfMqVkVhs

I really wanted to test out Guardian Spirit, but have changed my mind about the importance of Meditation. The plan is to pick up Guardian Spirit at level 74 after Searing Light and Surge of Light. I will then take Spirit Tap and Improved Spirit Tap to boost my grinding a little further.

Full raid build: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=bVhbzhZfxtcfMqVuVIsz
I will respec to this build when we are back at normal raiding schedule. The focus in the build is to boost my mana management while staying holy. It feels a little strange to skip Divine Providence. I have always taken everything that are boosting my heals, but I want to try the other talents for now. If mana management turns out not to be any issue I will move points from Holy Specialisation.

Improved Holy Concentration feels a litte weak. It does boost the chance to get Holy Consentration, but the haste is counter productive so I'm not sure if I'll say with it. Divine Providence and Holy Specialisation might give me more.

Re: 3.0 Discuss!

How do you all like the changes after having tested them out on Sunday?

Trash is more boring than ever with mindless spamming of Circle of Healing. Everything else turns into overheal. On boss fights it's required to think a little bit more about mana consumption, but it wasn't to hard. My primary heal was still Circle of Healing I think. Mixed with Prayer of Mending, Renew and Greater Heal.

I'm not too comfortable with the current situation. At the end of 2.4 and now there is only one spell that enables us to keep up with other healers and that is Circle of Healing. I feel weak and robbed for tools.

Re: 3.0 Discuss!

although i was dependant on CoH before the patch i still agree with you, it was basically pom coh all raid (unless you have a target to heal) which yeah, is somewhat very boring especially as it seems the whole raid was being topped up in seconds! I'd like to see how quick we heal the raid on najentus (bt)  but he probably will die before he bubbles :-/

lets hope its addressed after wotlk hits.
