wotlkwiki recent updates

Wotlkwiki had some interesting updates over the last 2 days.

In particular they developed Inscriptions section as well as introduced an interesting concept of "phasing" - in a nutshell, they way you see world (eg. looks and locations on npcs, graphics) will change as you progress in specific quest line. Interesting.

Oh, the inscriptions section now allows you to see the breakdown between minor and major glyphs. Also, judging by the updated leveling guide it would seem that the amount of herbs required to reach lvl 300 has been greatly decreased. Not that it matters much.

People are like slinkies. Cheap and useless, but they still make you smile when you push them down the stairs.

Re: wotlkwiki recent updates

It's basically quests that change the world for you. Say you did a quest to rescue the king of stormwind, and when you completed it, he'd be standing in stormwind for you, but not for everyone else who's not completed the quest.
The starting DK quests are a great example also, where the scarlet crusade has a town near Ebon Hold, with farms and peasants everywhere, but further in the questline, this town is under attack, and in ruins, this is what you see, while others who's on previous stages, will be in another "instance", and see the town as whole.

Re: wotlkwiki recent updates

In AoC they solved some of those things by putting NPCs into buildings you had access to only if you had the quest. An NPC could then actually die at the end. Because you no longer had access to the building he would be dead to you.

We have seen the same at least one time in Wow as well. An NPC is trapped inside a toilet in Searing Gorge. Only problem is that his calls for help can be heard after you rescued him. :p

Phasing sounds like a lot more advanced and better. Looking forward to seeing it in action.
