alot of super awesome quests in wotlk, i hardly got bored doing quests

WTF, blizzard said they would NOT put another money sink in the game to allow you to use your flying mounts. It was to be unlocked with quests (and maybe a small amount of coins). 9000 is just silly.

atm in the beta it costs 1000g, but i heard its going to be more in the release, but im not sure

It won't be more than 1000g on live either. Saw blue post about it yesterday.

umm.. the 14k was for the mammoth.. mammoths cant fly! and I later found out thats the mammoth that doesnt require rep. so if you want to gather rep with either of two different factions you can get another mammoth for a lot less coin.
But then there will be engineer made boe mount, "Mekgineer's chopper".. a motorcycle! That ones awesome.. though the materials are expected to cost ~20k gold and take 20+ days due to titansteel crafting cooldown. Prices might change much ofc due to market but still..
Then tailors will be able to make FLYING CARPETS! Mooncloth carpet for mooncloth spec tailors etc.. one for each spec and a slow carpet at lower skill so all tailors can get a taste of it.. but the fast ones require a tailoring specialization. Those can only be used by tailors btw. They look big but I hope they can also carry passengers ;D would be cool. Alladin and all that.
People are like slinkies. Cheap and useless, but they still make you smile when you push them down the stairs.

Yes, it will be 1000g when it goes live. It was originally part of a quest line but we found that it wasn't intuitive where to get it. We also tuned the cost around the amount of gold you will have accrued by level 77. Unless you're spending excessive money on the AH as you level up, you will have more than enough gold to afford the cost.
