builds

What are you'r builds you are striving for?

Today i changed my ench-leveling-build to an elemental/resto one. Just to see how that works for leveling and to decide which one to use for 60-70. Endgame im most propably going to be elemental / resto.

Here is the build I think is a good basic caster one. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=GE0zqcMqVoZZxfxt0xo

edit:

- why do u have totem mastery for leveling?   (btw pala auras dont cost mana)
- healing focus 5/5 <-- woot? oh right, u dont have bubble.
- nuf B.S. now, your build (so far) looks like a perfect pve/dps build, cant wait for u 2 hit 70 and we start doing karazhan(not that we _need_ a shaman), GET THE PREQUEST DONE U LAZY ******** im avalible ALL weekend for instances!

Re: builds

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basic … 5010000000

This is what I'm going for, a pure spell damage relyant build but also with the ability to do some effective healing.
Spellhit to avoid resists, Natures Swiftness for an imba instant Chain Lightning or instant Healing Wave.
Elemental Mastery for that imba crit, healing threat reduction.
As I can see it's all there.

But I might try an enhancement build aswell, that will look like this.

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basic … 0000000000

Build based on _stable_ dual wield damage, lot of melee enhancing skills, I even counted in a +spell/melee hit talent in the healing tree because my findings on my tauren shaman were that it still misses quite a bit.
Also based on self-healing in PvP/PvE without interruptions.
And ofcourse the shockspamming needed in between costs a bit less mana.

***Warning, excessive use of Stormstrike***

That would be mine for ench. When given the choice over 1sec faster shocks and getting resistance to heal interrupts, the choice is clear. Plus I know im gonna have to heal myself / others so why not make it a bit easier as opposed to doing a bit of damage faster. Though I admit the 1sec counts in many situations I stand behind my choice wink

God damn, that's a good allround build.

One thing that I've always wondered about.

All caster classes have a "main nuke" spell and can reduce the cast time of it through talents. All other classes - except shaman - get a 0,5 second reduction, whereas shamans get 1 second reduction. Is there any difference to their main nuke spell that warrants this, or is it just one of those "i'm shaman, lol, so i get it" thingies? smile

As the "main nuke" spell you're talking about we have lightning bolt and we _can not_ shorten the cast time of it in any way. Imo there is no problem here smile

Actually your "Lightning Mastery" talent does exactly that smile

That was the talent I was referring to.

EDIT:
On re-reading your reply I think we are talking about different things. I'm not talking about cooldowns but cast time.

Re: builds

Hmm.. seems I indeed misread *hides* im tired! you cant blame me!

When I look at it more closely I see elementals truly have a whole 1 sec lessening to the cast time.. imbah, i know.
"i'm shaman, lol, so i get it"

wink

Re: builds

Bump for some shamen.

Here are my builds I'd go for if I specced "that way" wink

Elemental (caster.. in this version really elemental/resto as I cant live without NS smile)
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hE0zEcMqioZZE00t0Lo
40/0/21

Enhancement (melee.. look above why I went the 21 to resto.. one can never have too much healing)
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=uZxVbdVosVuqZv0xt00o
0/40/21

Restoration (healer build. for pure raid healing, ie not good for soloing)
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=GZZEfxtAestez
0/0/61 everyone of these 61 points has a meaning here. With all these talents in resto, shaman is an imba healer.

I've had some discussions with a friend of mine about the importance of Chain Heal and the "Improved Chain Heal" talent. Many on the forums suggest that Chain Heal is the healing spell to use in raids and any other situation where more than one melee player takes damage. You haven't included that talent in the pure resto build, so what is your opinion on this?

EDIT:
It might be because they factor in the 3 part set bonus from Ten Storms. I guess that bonus is irrelevant these days.

Re: builds

Druids get an imba cast reduction on their already crazy fast 2sec cast Wrath. When everything procs they can get it down to 1sec cast too.

Re: builds

But it would be more fitting to say that the "main nuke" of Balance druids is Starfire and not Wrath, since Starfire scales better with damage gear and is more mana efficient. The Wrath thing is more comparable to the burst damage of shaman shocks. The difference, of course, being that shocks have cooldowns and Wrath not having a secondary effect.

(that's my opinion, anyway smile)

Re: builds

Time for an update as Wrath is closing in fast smile And 3.0.2 is going to hit sooner than a paladin can bubblehearth.

Specs I came up with while toying around with the talent-calculator for each of us shaman specs:

Restoration (pve. Even more than before we could just put about all talent points into resto and not regret. But for now I think the shield boost from enhancement cant hurt)
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=hZ0x0hZEceuAcoxkrIRt

Enhancement (pure pve spec with all supporting abilities / totemboosts available)
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=hx0hZhggcoxdAIkubotV

Elemental (a bit pvp-orientated this one.. Since I have some unrealised aspirations to try different things now that we get a new expansion.. maybe some elemental pvp.. THUNDERSTORM FTW!)
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=hEhVqcdetGest0L

How about your builds?
