There's absolutely no use speeding home to enjoy the new content right now.
You can do pretty much nothing, that's assuming you actually manage to log in in the first place.

i managed to setup talents, learn "reins of <dragonmount>" before it all "froze"... i can walk around in outlands, but can't interact with anything....

i can hear people logging in on my priest, while beeing stuck in loading screen, so i can just wait to get inside and get DCed
for some reason my druid dissapeared from the world, so im not even considering him again.

Ohh, dont try and log in to IF or SW. thats just maniac. For me it seems like shat is the best place to log in, believe it or not

Seems like this is similar to what the beta server went through for about 10 or so beta builds, people would get suck on "retrieving char list" and such, or they would get to loading screen where they would be stuck so long that the char actually got logged out of the server because it was inactive too long
