AotV question

How are you guys using AotV? I'm having pretty mixed feelings so far. Ideally, I imagine the best thing to do, would be to use autoshoot only while shooting as fast as possible. Maybe even using Rapid Fire+AotV would prove optimal. In practice, I have a feeling that refilling manapool but autoshot only takes ages, while the usual AS+SS system works way better.

Any idea, tricks?

Re: AotV question

Well, personally I see myself a constant need of AotV:ing even in 5man instances (with a non-stop pase) aka no manabreaks. During Naxx 10 man I noticed the same pattern repeating itself (2-3 packs oom) Aotv for 20sec, aand aspect switch... To ease the mana issues I decieded to spec for Invigoration. I even took the liberty of buying Glyph Aspect of Viper, to make things nicer. About the refilling manapool rotation I wouldn't waste rapid fire on that in any case, just keep up the usual.

Re: AotV question

Cool trick I haven't thought about but found described on EJ, for MM hunters only though: since Serpent Sting damage is based on the attack power a hunter had the moment he applied it, a MM hunter should (re)apply it when he has some nice procs (say, the Something of the Truth trinket). Having done that, he can benefit from that increased ap keeping Serpent String up via Chimera Shot. That works even in AotV. Logical, simple and feasible.
