Okey guys, i found this post on public test realm forums and i think it's worth readin it out..
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa … &sid=1
Basicly in post there's guy explaining how their guild has tested in ulduar different tanks and how long they can survive against the target dummy boss there until they die.. DK:s seems to be almost mandatory tank for any guild now, who wants to survive against bosses that hit's really hard.. Take your time to read it through, i find the whole thread very interesting (even their wws stats are posted there). I also post some quotes here..
For the people who are unfamiliar: The "Tank" test patchwerk is a regular patchwerk, but with around 27 million HP. He does not hateful strike. He simply melee swings, but every 10 seconds he gains a stacking buff of +10% physical damage. Thus, 20 seconds is +20% damage, 500 seconds is +500% damage.
Our goal on the tank test was to see which tank can last the longest, without DPS'ing Patchwerk. Some people DPS'd anyway because they were bored, but generally only to keep up debuffs.
We gave each tank a few attempts to get everything worked out with cooldowns being rotated, etc. Warrior (myself) got to around 27? without the best cooldown usage, didn't go after that as I was more interested in the other tanks. (And knowing warriors are getting a glyphed short Shield Wall + Last Stand made me not too worried about the current possibilities)
Paladin got to around the same - 27-30, somewhere around there. Druid was 38-39. Death Knight was 52

Seems my tank gearing was not in vain.

Hm, hope they buff the other tanks, and not nerfing us ;P

does it say anything about TPS while trying to survive ?

Summary of the 2 minute (few stacks, hits relatively weak) clips of the fight:
Warrior: 252 152 (2 136 DPS) // 520K damage in
Druid: 250 941 (2 108 DPS // 462K damage in
DK: 276 953 (2 347 DPS) // 383K damage in
TPS of a DK specced for not dying is about the same as a warrior not specced Impale / Deep wounds so by all accounts the DK completly dominates Warrior tanks.
Worth noting that the Warrior in the test had infinite rage and the DK had infinite runic power (indicated by 0-1 melee attacks).
It's probably due to DKs having cooldowns that just chain constantly and needs much fewer outside buffs (Blessing of Sac etc) to plug in the gaps until something else is ready again. Afaik Blood tanks have 42 / 60 seconds uptime for "tank CDs" (Vampiric blood 20 secs (30 glyphed), Icebound Fort 12 secs). The new warrior glyphs which reduce the CD of the warrior equivalents seem to be trying to push Warriors into a similar sort of situation.
The change from "OH SHIT" abilities towards a "constant CD approach" is probabaly not a very good one (i think).
edit: THe test is obviously not typical of a standard encounter, but perhaps more accurately reflects stuff like Sarth3d and presumably other Hard Mode encounters where you are more likely to encounter "super abilities / phases" where DKs really shine.
TLDR version:
Warriors/Paladins are plain icecream
Druids are icecream with chocolate sprinkles (Superior HP, Armour, but no parry)
DKs are icecream with chocolate sprinkles (Better HP, Armour), strawberry sauce (+ Parry scaling with Str) smothered liberally all over these three ladies (Insane cooldown uptime)

Mmmmmarabou, now I wanna transfer my DK to SR. I could get that lvl 80 alt and see how this "tanking" will go in heroics with current crappy gear (~1700-1800dps on a boss who doesn't move as blood). Or I hax to Namino's account...
On topic tho, I like those "OH SHIT" moments and you spam that stupid button just to realize "oh shit" again because it's on CD.
