so this has been annoying me since I started using vista. I have tried alot of things to fix it with one resulting in a bit better latency in wow but still dial-up quality speed with browsing and downloading.

Tried so far

installed older drivers for network controller, latency dropped to 50 in wow after this but still having random lag spikes.
disabled autotuning.
disabled ipv6

currently im removing all windows updates (not security ones) if that would help..

anyone countered this problem and fixed it?

I have a stable connection, so its not because of that.

Ok, sorry then I can't help. I just know Vista + Wireless can give insane lagspikes.

How do I stop the air from making my internet lag apart from moving into space?

You set up two huge fans, one in each direction, to blow the signal faster through the air, back and forth between the wireless card and the router. Does that answer that?

Lydo, there is a specific Vista update KBxxxxxxxx something, that can supposedly have that effect on gaming latency. I had that problem earlier and I found info abot it somewhere. Uninstalled that specific update and worked fine for some time after that. Until my comp died on me altogether. But I'd suppose you could look around for any info in that direction.

Thanks for the tip but I found some information about that earlier and I think I removed that update already. I't didnt fix the problem though. Now I have a new adsl modem so lets see does this make any difference, so far its looking good.
