Name something more annoying to install on a computer and I would be amazed. Installing .net framework took like 4 hours today for me. Even reinstalling windows + wow is faster than that.. what the fuck is wrong with microsoft. First you have to install like 1000 updates before you can install another 1000 updates and this takes like hours already and then you can install some other updates and perhaps after that you can install .net framework if you are lucky.
Not on my computer though but on some old outdated computer of relative of mine..
I dont even know what .net framework is for, some useless crap that all programs doesnt even use.

Hehe, never had any problems myself.
If you don't know what .Net is then I will probably have a hard time finding good example for comparison, but Java is one such beast. It's a platform on which you build and run programs. It simplifies the development process a great deal from traditional languages like c++.

Seriously, get windows 7, and if nessecary a new computer. All .net frameworks except nr 4 is integrated into the OS baseline.

See how easy it is Lydo? Problems installing a pieace of software? Get a new operating system and a new computer. If I were, I'd get a new flat to keep the hardware at while you're at it, which might be the spark you need to start a family, since why not!

Reductio ad absurdum, nice. Too bad it's not good enough. If his current computer isn't capable of running windows 7, it highly likely also has issues running WoW in raids, hence why an upgrade is needed. Not to mention the fact that windows xp will be completely dead in april 2014, and it is now on life support so to speak, since it only gets security updates.
Also, a little trick is to download the .net framework service patches yourself instead of waiting for windows update to do it.

Yes, because paying overprice for outdated hardware in an aluminum box with a half-eaten apple logo on it is worth a damn, not to mention that if you want to play anything beside blizzard games, your choices are severely limited.
I look forward to the day when apple becomes so big, they'll get chopped into little bits, just like what happened to microsoft.

Seriously people..
Looks like everyone missed to notice that it was not on my computer, but on my relatives computer! And no, shes not bying a new computer or windows.
And its not the download that takes long, but the installation and I suppose it isnt any faster with pre downloaded patches/updates.

Not even the 7 year old PCs at my work place take more than 45 mins to install xp and .net frame 1, 2, 3.5 and 4, along with office, winzip and other such applications. After that there's usually around 150 windows updates that take about 2 hours to install, and then it's done.

And just how many of those are worth a damn? Not many, your choices are still extremely limited.
