Some 8.3k diff - that's really balanced I'm sure.

If these values turn out to be close to accurate then I do wonder what blizz are thinking...
They could of course be totally off but usually they aren't afaik.

Re: The impending doom of 4.3

On Ultraxion 25 man hc the 1st ranked shadow priest is at position 396.
Ok, we should not be the best single target dps ever ( seems to be the design) but that bad, really?

Doing 77% of the top 1rd dps.

Overall, shadow priests are the 2nd best performing, after the insane fire mages.
- 4th dps spec on Morchok
- 5th on Zon'ozz
- 4th on Yorsahj (mages pulling 74k dps on average, 2nd class at 58k - nerf Impact+Combustion)
- 2nd on Haagara
- 7th on Ultraxion
- 3rd on Lootship
- 3rd on Spine
- 1st on Madness (normal mode ranking, no hc data)

The "dps" of a class is median of top 100 parses for given spec. Not the gimpy 1st where all the stars aligned properly. Don't ignore the big picture. smile

Re: The impending doom of 4.3

Just to add some perspective - best dps for each spec in game from Ultraxion.

1. Mage-fire: 56.2
2. Warrior-arms: 53.9
3. Warrior-fury: 48.5
4. Rogue-multilate: 48.3 (not sure if I got that right, I hate rogues to the extent on not knowing which icon stands for which spec)
5. Paladin-retribution: 46.7
6. Warlock-destruction: 46.3
7. Warlock-demonology: 45.6
8. Mage-arcane: 44.6
9. DK-unholy: 44.4
10. Warlock-affliction: 44.3
11. Hunter-survival: 43.7
12. Priest-shadow: 43.4
13. Shaman-elemental: 43.4
14. Shaman-enchancement: 43.0
15, Rogue-assasination: 42.0
16. DK-frost: 41.6
17. Druid-balance: 41.4
18. Hunter-marksman: 40.2
19. Hunter -beast mastery: 38.4
20. Druid-feral: 30.2 (probably only tanks?)
Mage-frost: --
Rogue-subtelty: --

Clearly, there are some severely overpowered classes/specs for this fight, but as of position number 5 it gets reasonably close I'd say. I guess what's more important with respect to your complain though, is that Ultraxion is just about as bad as it gets for a shadow priest. I mean, one good thing is lack of movement, but besides that, all the elements were a shadow priests shine are gone - no multidoting possible, no phase where we can't touch the boss, but dots keep on rolling.

In effect, I would say that priests end up where they belon on this fight - some half way through to the top of the list. What I find a little more alarming is that the same spec holds the greatest single target and aoe damage across the board (fire mage) and even more so - that some of the typical single target classes are left behind "even" by shadow priests (practically all hunter specs, survival has one outliner beating the top SP, shamans).

So to wrap it up - I agree that shadow priests don't really shine on Ultraxion, but at the same time they are not "meant to" - it's not a good fight for them. There are some other ones where they can show their full potential. Plenty other specs don't even have that.

One last thing - comparison between the top dps from logs from DS feels a little bit redundant alltogether, unless you're a warrior, mage or a rogue.

Re: The impending doom of 4.3

We're still talking about single target damage. Specs that are low (shadow and balance) perform well on fights with multiple targets.
