This guy puts words to what many feel about D3 at the moment

Itemization: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI4peeO3yzY
Difficulty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8CBbeSAjVo
Storytelling (SPOILERS): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G4lX-MKrgI

I couldn't agree more. D3 is missing alot of stuff that made D2 fun to play for almost 12 years.

Re: This guy puts words to what many feel about D3 at the moment

Excellent videos, on point and sums up most of my problems with the game. The game's still great fun (the gameplay parts itself, I would say, feel better than D1 & D2, games that I love to bits) and I will keep playing it now and then, but the endgame balance is a huge mess, and the story only serves to annoy me. When D1 and D2 were so much about left and right clicking, progressing through D3 introduces a third button you have to keep spamming, being the spacebar.

Also, why do elective mode and advanced tooltips even exist as options, instead of being automatically always on? Is denying information and choices from the player somehow more "casual friendly"? And they're not the only things that only seek to insult the intelligence of the player in this game. And even the advanced tooltips leave out many bits of information (you have "a chance" on critical hit to restore discipline? What chance is this? HELLO? Help me, advanced tooltips!?). Also, they roll out hotfixes and balance changes without ever giving you official changelogs in the client or the launcher? What is this? Why ._.?

The only reason I'm ranting is, there's an amazingly fun core experience that is spoiled by a... Very non-Blizzard like lack of polish, I feel. Their priorities seem really messed up this time, and I only fear the day the RMAH is up. Imagine hitting a brick wall trying to solo through Inferno, like after finishing act 2, suddenly you no longer have any kiting space and every mob near oneshots you, you have basically the option of attempting to skip through packs (as the bosses on inferno are far easier than many elite packs), going to farm earlier acts for days upon days for better gear, thus improving your chances... Or finding that better gear from the AH. And of course 99% of the good stuff that drop will be found for real money only. Oh well.

RMAH only will ruin the game one way or another, in a bad way or a good way. While it sounds nice to sell items for hundreds of euros for extra income, hopefully they are not going to implement it.

Re: This guy puts words to what many feel about D3 at the moment

Gameplay is fun, no doubt. But it's not enough to keep me going for years when the itemization isn't good enough.

I also don't like how they've made bossfights into an event. Like "Are you ready to fight the boss? Yes - CUTSCENE - Fight"
D2 was awesome at this, where you just met the boss when you got far enough into the dungeon, and it let you port in and out during the middle of the fight, whereas in D3 it's locked, and the boss resets if you die.

And storywise; Why did they make an awesome world map if they never show you where you are. I'd like them to tell you on the map where you're traveling to, it really helps with the immersion. Also, they should let you travel seamlessly trough the acts like in D2 without relogging and changing quest.

Really, they have D2 which set the standards, and people loved... Why go so far away from the recipe that made D2 a legend?

While I'm not really into the game (admitedly, that's based on ca. 25h of an experience, but I just don't feel like getting any more), I do have to admit with the message that seams to be comming from more and more sources - it's not that it's bad, it just doesn't feel right.

I think the most notable stuff is a nerf to IAS (increased attack speed) and a nerf to inferno from act II up and some changes to the loot.
