Prototype Steam Machines

The following are the specs for the prototype Steam Machines Valve will be sending out to 300 testers:

The 300 prototype units will ship with the following components:
GPU: some units with NVidia Titan, some GTX780, some GTX760, and some GTX660
CPU:    some boxes with Intel i7-4770, some i5-4570, and some i3
RAM: 16GB DDR3-1600 (CPU), 3GB GDDR5 (GPU)
Storage: 1TB/8GB Hybrid SSHD
Power Supply: Internal 450w 80Plus Gold
Dimensions: approx. 12 x 12.4 x 2.9 in high

WoW is factored on so many things it should play WoW fine depending on resolution, detail, add ons, etc etc.

I don't get why they focus so much on having PC gamers use a controller when we already have the best input method available in the mouse and keyboard.

Keyboard and mouse don't lend themselves well to playing from a couch. That's one of the major points of the steam machine.

A gaming controller may suck for FPS games and Strategy-based games, but beats the standard mouse+keyboard for most other gametypes. Diablo being a good example.

also, its easier to program games for consoles, or so they say. Lets see how well the developers get to know the Linux based OS that Steambox will use.
