TBC as a Warrior

I recieved my beat key last night and got the chance to try out the supposedly nerfed warrior in tbc.
So far the nerf is not that noticeable. Ragegeneration is pretty nerfed, but you still get ~enough rage both vs. single mobs and multiple.

My unbuffed ap in retail is atm 920, in beta with imp. berserker stance its 1001. Heres a screenshot from yesterday with only motw and bom as non-selfbuffs: Link

My current build is: 7/41/3

Im planing on trying out a mortal strike build pretty soon to see how that works.

Both me and Windir will probably be reporting our experiences here regularly.

All my screenshots will be posted here: Screenshots

Re: TBC as a Warrior

At level 60 I have no rage problems really... I have 10/41/0 (no tac. mastery). 10 rage is enough for the abilities you change stance for (intercept/overpower).
Rampage is a pretty cool talent which boosts your AP abit, seems bugged atm.(you have to trigger it twice for it to start giving you attackpower, that means twice the rage cost (but still no problem at level 60))

Duelling treeform druids without MS is pretty hopeless, since their "renew" ticks are higher than your dmg output

I'm looking forward to duel mojorising's felguard tongue

more info to come

So I got this quest. (Kill a bad ass lvl 63 elite).
Me and Denatus decided to try him duo, and here is the result: Demon

I popped a titan flask, equipped some tank gear and some dps gear (since I was the dps). Denatus used 2major mana pots, nightfin soup and some other consumables. We wiped our first try, cause denatus also was in melee range and got hit by the shadowbolt volley so he had to heal himself too.

So now I've replaced my first item, Blackhands Breadth with the quest reward from the pic above.

You also get twice the AP too, so an added bonus, just annoying that it has to be activated twice.

Re: TBC as a Warrior

Got some updates.

Im am now lvl 64 and my impression hasnt really changed much. The warriorclass still seems to be firmly place at the far end of the foodchain, the bottom that is. PVE dmg in instances is the only thing where I seem to do fairly well, but I suspect thats mostly because Rampage is bugged atm, like Draken pointed out, it gives alot more ap then it should. However, I still get outdpsed by paladins with shield+1hander (read: Denatus) smile.

Regarding pvp theres not really much to say. So far I've come out as the victor in _3_ fights, 2 of which I sctually survived. Rogues and hunters seems doable of you get the jump and are lucky with crits, other classes are pretty much huge boulders steamrolling our scissors. So as far as the pvpscene is concerned I cant really see warriors as any part of it. I got spellreflect this lvl, still havent had a chance to test it, but tbh I doubt it will make a huge difference.

Got some new cool screenshots though:

Some cool bosses from the instance Mana-tombs: Pandemonious and Tavarok

Tavarok dropped this: Shaarde the Greater

Nice crit with the lv62 skill, Victory Rush: he-he

Went to check out Cavers of Time, found a vendor selling this: Nice dagger

IMO spell reflect is mostly a PVE spell that You will use to avoid being hit by some 20k nukes from endgame bosses. You know, in PvP running around with 1h and shield is not the best idea I've heared of, and every smart mage/warlock/priest should notice that slight difference when You swap your weapon sets when frozen/rooted/captured in the net. Mages, also, will throw ice lances in frozen warriors.

Or You will not use the ability at all if paladins will be MT's ;P

This I dont know, but it should. Do You know that mages' talent Slow (41st point in arcane tree, slows attacks, movement and casting speed) for 50% work on raidbosses and 5-men instance bosses? I saw a guy that slowed Onyxia, and I used it on all Hellfire Citadell bosses. Nice? smile

Re: TBC as a Warrior

extremely nice. that would reduce amount of attacks, and therefor dmg by 50%. (am i right?). sounds almost like a misfunction of the skill.

It lasts 15 secs, but... doesn't have any cooldown. Pretty high mana cost, tho. I won't spam it in 5-men instances, because I'm there to deal damage. In raids, tho...

And by the way. I've read some dev words about spellsteal. He says that it will be VERY important in endgame raiding. I can imagine stealing enrages, AoE damage effects, buffs and and HoTs from raidbosses...

I agree. I have only tried spell reflect on the shadowcasters in Terrokar so far, and I can tell you that in solo pve its pretty useless, 25 rage to reflect 300dmg every 10 sec... I cant really imagine using it in pvp either, since changing to shield will give a 1,5 sec global cd, and you also have to change to defensive stance, so it will be virtually impossible to reflect anything with a shorter casttime than 3 sec. I have read however that its supposed to be very usefull in endgame instances, so I guess well have to wait and see.

Re: TBC as a Warrior

Well don't worry warriors, i have heard that blizzard is planning to add new stance for you on lvl 70.. It's called ambulance and it allows you to heal 15% more with your bandages. Also it allows you to heal even while your target takes dmg and removes just bandaged effect. Negative side is that you can't use bandages on yourself while in ambulance stance.. Anyway i heard it's suppose to be very usefull in end game raid instances where you will heal tanking/dps paladins..

Ofc this all goes until Paladins are nerfed heavily, which is scheduled to happen two weeks after launching of TBC..
