well i think in TBC you'll get a different tactic, maybe garrot: 3 sec silence, imp kick: 2 sec silence blind gouge using those could help i think. and ofc enginering ftw but i don't know that
'But well i always had problems fighting mages since i'm a swords rogue but my enginering always helped alot same goes against warlocks since i just reflect DC
edit: i usualy also opend with a cs - sprint - gouge and from there just try to hit as much as you can, hehe

Tidal charm - 3 sec ranged stun.
Use it after the mage blinks to get closer to the mage. Blind is also a good skill. That said, mages have always been difficult for a rogue, am i not correct?
