The official "Get ready for TBC" thread!

This is the official "Get ready for TBC" thread.

Professions
Fishing
Get to 300 fishing if you feel you have the time.
http://www.capsu.org/wow/the_burning_crusade.html - this page also lists some of the food buffs you can get through cooking. Be aware, we have seen many more cooking recipes. These are just the ones that require fishing. For those who are afraid of links, the buffs are in this league: "Golden Fish Sticks: +44 Healing, +20 Spirit"

Cooking
Get to 300 cooking. There are extreme food buffs, much more than you are used to.

First aid
Bring around 150 runecloth. That should get you to 330 where you can start making Netherweave bandages.

Enchanting
Gather some high level greens for easy disenchanting. Also bring mats for mana/wizard oils. You will level good on these.
Be careful doing Aldor/Scryers quests before 345 ench. You will get enchanting recipes from Scryers, but not if they dont like you.

Tailoring
Bring some runecloth and ironweb spidersilk for crafting runecloth headbands. Otherwise, this is simple to skill. You will get tons of Netherweave to craft Netherweave gear.

General
Flying mount
The flying mounts are sold in Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley.
Prices are as follows:
Expert rinding (225 ridingskill): 800g
"Epic mount flying skill" (300 ridingskill): 4999g 99s 99c
Normal flying mount (60% increased speed): 100g
Epic flying mount (280% incresed speed, 100% on the ground): 200g

Nemus gathered around 1500 from 60-70. He didnt skill any professions, and vendored most items he found. So it can be wise to not use up all your coins on crap for your alts.

Items
Resistance gear
If you trust me, you can sell every resistance gear except epics. That means sell your Sylvan and Bramblewood, but keep Dark Iron and Flarecore. Epic NR/FrR gear is also worth to keep.

Epics
If you dont have a desperate need for bagslots, I would advice you to hang on to your epics. You never know when you need them. I sold my T1 in beta, but I will most likely hang onto it in retail TBC.

Reagents
There will be a completely new set of "elemental items". So no more grinding for Essence of Air. The new ones are called Primals: "Primal Air", "Primal Life", etc. These will be used for everything. Keep everyone you find, don't AH them right away, cause you may need them.
It can be wise to bring a couple of essences for eventual enchants, cause you wont find them in outlands.

Character
Decide what character to play. This is the absolute best moment to reroll, if you want to. Let me know ingame about your plans.

Raids
http://worldofraids.free.fr/bc/diagram.jpg (dont be scared, we will figure this out together)

You get Motes of the various elements first which you can combine 10 of to create one primal element and the motes only stack in 10 but some tradeskills can make primal elements into motes of elements. Mining for example can take one primal fire and create 10 motes of fire through a trainer learned skill called Fire Sunder, or one primal earth and create 10 motes of earth through another trainer learned skill called Earth Shatter.

These abilities won't give you any skills with mining, neither will smelting any type of ore at any point above 300 except for elementium bars which can take you to around 320 or so but they are not quite so cheap to create.

At some point primal essences will drop in instances and most likely also normal mobs or elites, but they can always be created by the base mote components.

Had pretty decent drop of motes from mobs, so it will take roughly the same time to grind enough motes for a primal, as it took to get an essence.

Obs, add a good rule: Guild before AH. If You guys find something (especially recipes etc), dont put it on AH, but ask on /g who will need it. Lets try not to charge guildies for such a gifts, because in a long term, it will help us alot.

Yup, and even nif we find something really valuable, it is normal that we might expect some profit from it just to help lvling enchanting , mats etc. But it would be wise to keep it in the guild, if money is the issue i think bank or even some sort of tipping in from other players could sove it.

Nice... Is the bigger speed really worth it or should I keep my 5k gold?
