Very good post from a mage forum #2

http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.htm … &sid=1

Read it especially if You're a fresh mage.

It's about kiting, using "lagcasting" and maximizing your dps as a mage smile

Actually, I've been practicing the "trickjump" alot today with arilia and I must say it's not only uber effective, but also... damn fun. You know, playing a mage is rather static: stand, cast, cast, cast, FN + run when charged. And this adds some, hm, flavour smile

yeah true, mages do depend a lot on being stationary and vulnerable as where warlocks can just be mobile with most of their DoTs

Re: Very good post from a mage forum #2

And besides, I've read alot about mage's role in 5vs5 arenas, and according to the frostie from the world's best 5vs5 team, our role is:

(in this order)

- CS healers in the most important moments (meaning: when their target is below 50% and the team leader called the target and ordered nuking)
- annoy dispellers by placing debuffs (hence icelance spam that leaves the frost +crit debuff and detect magic spam) that will make dispelling sheeps and fears alot harder
- focus sheeping and chainsheeping 2 DPS of the enemy (he says chainsheep 1 guy until diminishing return, and after immunity, you go for 2nd guy)
- casting frost novas and pet freezes whenever possible (means: every time you have a CD ready and every time there's 2-3 enemies clumped up)
- cast icelances on frozen targets and launching deadly shatter frostbolt+icelance combos

So, he says frosties (fire mages aren't considered viable in any serious pvp nowadays) should use pets as main steady damage source, and go utility mode.

Fine by me. I'm doing a 0/7/54 respec right after I get my honor belt later this week.

Cool, I think our 5vs5 team really will profit from a frost mage.

Very OT, but do Curse of toughs and Slow stack? :p

I dont know.

Only idiots spec full arcane for PvP. smile

But if I spec frost, I think Supermage could do it, too, so we can both benefit from those skyhigh shatter crits.
