resto tricks

Lifeblooms and exploiting.
While technically, this is probably not considered an exploit, it so heavily warps healing comparisons between classes, that it should be. It is, however, in NO WAY unintended, or frowned upon, or disliked, or anything negatively. One could even argue that it is what makes the druid class viable in healing Endgame - and I would agree with that. Exploiting Lifebloom is done by using Trinkets with Use effects that add healing done. The most commonly used is the Essence of the Martyr ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29376 ). Other trinkets are Heavenly Inspiration ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30293 ), Warp-Scarab Brooch ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27828 ), Oshu'Gun Relic ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25634 ) and Zandalarian Hero Charm ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19950 ). Generally, these items can be used at the same time. By using these trinkets before applying your Lifebloom, the first lifebloom will gain an unreasonably high amount of +Healing (I can reach 2350 for example). As Lifeblooms depend only on the first stack and how much it ticks for, when it comes to stacking multiple Lifeblooms, if you restack it, the 2nd stack will also have the same high amount. However, if you keep the lifebloom rolling, it will also maintain the same high amount of healing, EVEN IF THE TRINKET BUFFS EXPIRE. You are essentially using the trinket buffs all the time, even when they are on cooldown.

idol
Use the right idol is something I cannot stress enough. Each idol available gets you an additional 2-3% on all healing spells you can use. Harold's Rejuvenating Broach ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25643 ) also buffs Swiftmend, if you are using it on a Rejuvenation spell. You should macro switching in and out of Tree of Life form, and equipping the right idol when you do. As for generally switching idols, make sure you do it while in a global cooldown from casting a spell - that will make sure that switching the idol does not itself cause global cooldown.

ToL
Use Tree of Life aura as a tool, not as something you paid for but want to return. It has its uses. Find them. For example, it is a great aura on Gurtogg Bloodboil, or High Warlord Naj'Entus. There is also an exploit for the ToL aura (tested 2.1.3). This is how it works: Upon switching, your total spirit is given as base value for the aura. If you do not switch out, you can maintain this base value for the aura, and can change gear in order to exploit your tree of life Aura. However, any spirit above this base value that you gain while still in ToL, actively updates the aura (increases it). When this temp buff fades, you are returned to the base value of the aura. Note that, for Lifebloom rolling, the ToL aura actively updates the spell only as long as ToL is active - once you switch out, or they lose the aura, there will be a reduction to your Lifebloom roll. Entering or exiting combat has no effect.
Note This trick is under dispute:

Re: resto tricks

The lifebloom thing works although it can be quite tricky to keep up depending on what needs healing, the 6 seconds needed to refresh lifebloom are amazingly short (esp if you are rolling lifebloom on 2 tanks where the "window of non lifebloom casting" is really quite short - less than 3 secs with lag).

Generally I find that if I'm healing 2 tanks, I can pretty much only keep life 2x lifebloom rolls + rejuv but a damage spike requiring a regrowth will usually make you drop a lifebloom on one tank

e.g. lifebloom cast cycle for 2 tanks will look like (allowing 0.2s (200MS) lag on each GCD)

0 - cast lifebloom on A
1.7 - cast lifebloom on B
3.4 - rejuv on A (3.6 sec LB on A)
5.1 - rejuv on B (1.9 sec LB on A / 3.6 LB on B)
6.8 - renew LB on A (with 0.2 sec to spare)

- the next cycle rejuv cast time can be skipped for raid healing / slapping regrowth / swiftmend (although you weill need to renew LB before a new rejuv) on one tank.

- i guess this is why i enjoy playing tree

Re: resto tricks

I wonder...

If you keep the Lifebloom up for the entire cooldown duration of the trinket you popped - can you stack the trinket effect then?

Has anyone tested this? smile

Re: resto tricks

I use the trinket trick all the time, use my trinket and keep my lifebloom up.

it works this way, I cast lifebloom on MT with my 1850 healing (in raid), 150 + healing aura on tank, 297 + from essence. so I get 3 stacks up while I have 2300 +healing. as long as I keep lifebloom up it stays this good, even if the duration of the trinket is over. cause casting a lifebloom when I got a 3/3 stack up only gives it new time, it does not change the amount it heals even if I got 300 less healing when I renew the stack.
