I've never tested hemo/assassination, but if I were you I'd choose the second one or go for the Adrenaline/Preparation hybrid.

And I`m no rogue expert, but I think skipping ghostly strike and imp ss is a bad idea as a hemo rogue.

you dont need to use ss when you are hemo - hemo takes over SS, like mutilate takes over backstab.

dont think so - i was combat swords before TBC, and my rogue was only 52 when expansion came, so never tried beeing a lvl 60 killing machine

AR/prep is the build i got now mojo, check my profile. It is decent in pvp, although lose a few things for pve but still works. And that 40/0/21 build for hemo, you are kind of missing out on alot of the good stuff deeper in the subt tree. such as extra AP/agi, preperation, premeditation just to name a few..... (what are they changing in 2.3 btw, not really checked out the patch notes )

to kick any ass with hemo, you need attackpower and a heavy weapon. if you're doing arenas, i wouldnt go for a sub spec at all. it just doesnt give you enough pewpew. combat maces is some heavy shiat

if you arent gnome you should also consider switching improved kick with improved sprint
i know the assassination tree looks tempting and all, but really, theres not much to collect there. deep combat or deep sub imo

For my rogue, its all about BG's.
the patch notes say:
Rogues
All poisons will now enchant the weapon for 1 hour, increased from 30 minutes.
Blade Flurry: This ability now works correctly in all cases with shielded targets.
Blind is now a physical (no longer a poison) attack. Reagent requirement removed. Now shares the same diminish category as Cyclone and is now diminished in PvE as well as PvP.
Cheat Death (Subtlety) chance to trigger increased to 33/66/100% and now also causes the rogue to take 90% less damage for 3 seconds when the effect triggers. This effect cannot occur more than once per minute.
Cold Blood: Fixed an issue where this buff was sometimes getting removed when an attack missed.
Dirty Deeds now also increases damage against enemies below 35% health.
Fleet Footed (Assassination) now increases movement speed by 8/15%.
Kick: Interrupting a channeled spell with this ability will now always properly prevent casting spells from the same spell school for 5 sec.
Precision: This talent now also applies to ranged weapons.
Riposte is now subject to diminishing returns in PvP.
Remorseless Attacks: This talent can no longer be triggered by the death of a rogues target dummy or other pet.
Rogue's Deadly Throw missile speed increased significantly and snare duration increased slightly.
Ruthlessness now only affects melee finishing moves. It no longer works with Deadly Throw.
Sap: Multiple Saps placed by multiple Rogues will now be handled correctly in all cases.
Shadowstep (Subtlety) can now be used at any time, not only while stealthed. Now increases the damage and reduces the threat caused by the next damaging ability. Cooldown increased to 30 seconds. Range changed to 25 yards.
If you are in Stealth and try to use an ability that may not be used while stealthed, you will leave stealth and use that ability. This can be disabled with /console autoUnshift 0

biggest problem is, that i cant go really further down the sub tree if i was to choose a malice/AR/Prep -hemo build.
My Rogue ( http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet … n=stealtha ) has 1248 AP and 18.46% crit (lol, i know) with a 41/3/17 mutilate build.
Ofc with malice, deadliness and sinister calling, those stats would change, but it would require atleast a 5/x/40 build leaving 16 points to spend, and that would result in no dps buff from combat tree

I have been testing 2.3 hemo in ptr and I gotta say that its going to be very good. Some teorycrafters even
say that its going to do more damage in pve than combat specs does. I got a 1,8k hemo crit with 1600ap unbuffed on a rogue in bg yesterday, he might have had that berserker thing up though. Though I had another one on a mage later on the same bg Cheat death will be a big part of hemo or possible shadowstep builds, even shadowstep & hemo might become an option since shadowstep just will be imba antikiting ability, very imba one. About cheat death its just.. overpowered some would say, it is no longer possible at all to nuke rogue down before a healer can get a heal through, 3 seconds cheating death buff reduces damage taken by 90%. For example, got a 125 execute yesterday with the buff on hehe..

I doubt that. Imo daggers are only usefull for attacks that actually require daggers, and for quick attacks. Using daggers for hemo is just gimping yourself. Though since you`ll allready be so deep into sub, you might be able to make a decent build with which you`ll use daggers for ambush (as a big damage opener), and then switch to swords/maces/fists for hemo (for more controllable damage).

bleh they finally normalised hemo, not sure if its a good thing or bad thing. guess all depends on your level of gear. The biggest problem for rogues in BG/Arena is survivablity/mobility. Once you have used those cooldowns you are just a warrior in leather, which isnt fun
so things like cheat death etc deeper into the subt tree will become very useful. I seriously think you will be missing too much by going deep assasin and losing all those subt talents. Personally I would probably go just enough in assasin to get coldblood, then work down the subt tree. and mod is a MUST for pvp. without it stealth is fucking awful......lol

although with the new shadowstep buff, would maybe consider loosing CB and putting the poison/CB points into the subt tree.

Why take Oppotunity, when you dont use daggers?
Doesnt that pretty much leave it with 5 points for 20% better garrote?
The 21/0/40 spec looks really nice too.
I would however, put the 4 points from poison into 2/2 murder and 2/2 expose armor i think.

Assasination has the best to offer in the first 3 Tiers.
Imo, stuff like 5% crit and combo generation, should belong in the combat tree where something like imp. gouge belongs more in assasination tree imo
It is hard to create a build, that focuses intirely on boosting dmg, because you need to go more than 30 points in both combat and sublity, and 15 points in assasination. But then again, if it was possible to get it all, it would be hard to come with variations.
- guess im too spoiled with my feral druid, where everything i need are available in 1 spec.
